You can order the Aliplast Imperial frames including glass. There is a choice of HR++ double glazing and HR+++ triple glazing. The choice of glass depends on several aspects. You make the choice on the basis of the chance of failure and the insulation values.
Glazing bars
We always supply glazing beads, even if you order without glass. With unglazed you will receive glazing bars for 28 mm glass package thickness. If you order the frames with glass, the dimensions of the glazing bars vary. This depends on the type of glass. The glazing bars are made of the same type of aluminum as the frame and are given the same colour.
You can choose from different types of glass, namely:
- HR++ double glazing
- 1- sided laminated HR++ double glass
- 2-sided laminated HR++ double glass
- HR+++ triple glass
- 1- sided laminated HR+++ triple glass
- 2- sided laminated HR+++ triple glass
HR++ double glazing
Double glazing gives a high efficiency. The structure of glazing is always referred to from the outside in. In this case there is 4mm glass on the outside, a cavity of 20mm and the glass on the inside is also 4mm. The HR++ glass guarantees a U-value of 1.1.
Safety glass: 1-sided laminated HR++ double glass
With 1-sided laminated glass, the inside of the glass has two thin 3 mm glass plates with a transparent foil in between. The foil ensures that the glass does not shatter too much if the glass is broken. It is best to use this glazing if the glass extends to the floor and you run the risk of falling outside, for example on a higher floor. The outer glass plate is 4 mm and the cavity is 18 mm. The 1-sided laminated HR++ double glass guarantees a u-value of 1.1.
Safety glass: 2-sided laminated HR++ double glass
With the 2-sided laminated HR++ double glazing, there is a foil between the glass on the inside and outside of the pane. If NEN3569 applies to your window frame, it is mandatory to use 2-sided laminated glass. We recommend using this glass in a frame that is placed up to the floor, such as doors and sliding doors. There is a chance that you can fall against the window from the inside and the outside. The cavity is 16 mm. This structure guarantees a U-value of 1.1
HR+++ triple glass
Because the HR+++ has a high efficiency, it is also called insulating glass. It is built from the outside in. So in the case of HR+++ glass, the outer glass is 4mm, it has a cavity of 18 mm and 4mm glass in the middle and then another cavity of 18. The glass on the inside is again 4 mm. The structure guarantees a U-value of 0.6.
Safety glass: 1-sided laminated HR+++ triple glass
From the outside to the inside, the window consists of a glass of 4 mm, a cavity of 18 mm, then another glass of 4 mm and then a cavity of 16 mm. On the inside of the glass, the glass layer is covered with a transparent foil of 3 mm. The foil has a high adhesion factor and will not give up easily. This fall-through safety is often used on a floor where the glass extends to the floor and there is a chance of falling out. The 1-sided triple glass guarantees a U-value of 0.6.
Safety glass: 2-sided laminated HR+++ triple glass
The 2-layered triple glass has a transparent foil on both the inside and outside. You can use this glazing if the NEN3569 applies to your work. If there is a chance that you can fall through the window from the inside or outside, our advice is to use the 2-sided laminated glass. The triple glass laminated on 2 sides guaranteed a u-value of 0.6.
