It is important to provide the Aliplast Imperial Aluminum frames with the correct coating. You can see which treatment applies to you in the information below. There are two different choices for a coating, namely coastal or industrial and standard. You will be given this option when ordering.
Surface treatment of aluminum frame
The choice between coastal or industrial and standard depends on the surface treatment. Anodizing the aluminum creates an oxide layer on the material. This treatment should prevent corrosion.
- Coast or industry: an anodization layer of 25 mu
- Standard: an anodization layer of 20 mu
A thicker layer provides more protection, but is not always necessary
Coast or industry
If you place the aluminum frames near the coast or near heavy industry, the material could use an extra protective layer. This way your frame will last a little longer! It concerns the following locations:
- Up to 1 km from the coastline (due to salt)
- Up to 1 km from an industrial area with heavy industry (chemical emissions)
- Comes into direct contact with swimming water (due to chlorine)
