When assembling your aluminum harmonica door, it is important that the right coating is selected. In this you have two choices: Coastal or Industrial and Standard . This is easy to select in the configurator .
Surface treatment
The difference between the coatings is the surface treatment. By means of anodising, the frame is provided with an oxide layer, which makes the frame resistant to corrosion. The different anodising layers are:
- Coast or industry: 25 mu
- Standard: 20 mu
Coast or industry
If the frame is placed near the coast or heavy industry, ask for a different treatment. This applies to the following situations:
- Up to 1 km from the coastline (due to salt)
- Up to 1 km from an industrial area with heavy industry (due to chemical emissions)
- Comes into direct contact with swimming water (due to chlorine)
Are you placing the frame in a location where one of the above points applies? Then choose a coating for the coast or industry. Thanks to this coating, your frame will last longer because it is protected against corrosion.
Standard
If the points of the coast or industrial coating do not apply to the installation of your window frame, you can opt for a standard coating.
