A crack in the wall or clogged gutter
In addition to incorrect placement of the frame, leakage can also come from a crack in the wall. In that case, water ends up in the cavity, after which it leaks out at the window frame. The space around the window frame is often a weak spot, so that the water flows past it at this point. A clogged gutter can also cause water to enter through the window frame. By repairing the crack in the wall or solving the blockage in the gutter, you solve the problem of the leaking window frame.
Frame leaks due to production error
Even though it doesn’t happen often, it is possible that a window frame contains a production defect. If a component in the frame does not fit properly, in some cases leakage can occur at windows and doors. The same applies to incorrect adjustment and therefore incorrect connection.

Leakage due to wear
Being with an old window frame, it is possible that wood rot occurs, that the sealant is no longer in optimal condition or that the rubbers (draft frames) have dried out. Dried rubbers can cause cracks and holes through which the water can enter. In this case it is wise to find the leak and find an adequate solution.
If the glass sealant is no longer in optimal condition, water can enter the hollow space under the glass. The water in this space finds a way and then leaks in.
If the wear is so bad that repair is not worthwhile, we recommend replacing the entire frame. This prevents serious water damage.
